Socket Inspection

If an impact socket shows splaying around the drive end box and /or the drive box is 1/16" larger than the drive size, discard the socket. Please inspect all impact sockets and address them accordingly. See the attached photo for reference.
A more thorough inspection is critical for all tools, remember it is one of the steps for keeping you and your coworkers safe.

Road Shoulders

With the warmer weather the roads are getting soft and in bad condition. Remember when you are dodging pot holes to avoid getting close to the edge of the road, the shoulders can give way. This can have you in the ditch and possibly turned over before you even know what is happening. In past years there has been a lot of equipment turned over from getting too close to the shoulders. Be careful and remind your co-workers.

360's

What are the mechanics of a 360? A comprehensive evaluation of a vehicle including condition of vehicle and potential obstacles in front of, behind and overhead; confirmation of no fluid releases from the vehicle and includes a thought process and strategy to move the vehicle successfully (forwards or backwards) to the next location. A 360 shall be conducted again if the vehicle is not moved immediately.
All employees must be mentored in a proper 360 by a Foreman, Supervisor, Superintendent or Project Manager. Please sign the One on One script when you complete the training and ensure a copy is in your file plus a copy needs sent to the HSE Superintendent. Thanks!

A Message from the Pirate Steering Comitee

The Wells Support Steering Committee members are trying to breathe new life into the process.
With positive attitudes and new ideas we hope to accomplish this goal.
Below are some of the new ideas.
* Scurvy observer of the month will receive a $150.00 gift certificate to Army Navy
* Dandy Award - Weekly recognition award (including a small prize) for small acts that make a big difference.
*New material that is fun and informative for Pirate Mondays.
Management has been very forthcoming to help in all our changes, including financial support along with allowing more time to prepare for Pirate Monday.
~Don't forget that without the crews support none of this would be possible~
We are always looking for new ideas to improve the process, if you have any please let one of us know.
Last but not least we have a $150 gift certificate for our April Scurvy Observer: Charlie Ebner!
Thank you all for your participation and support.

SIMS Training

Wells Support has six SIMS trainers and CH2MHILL has a total of sixty trainers. With the blow ending, now would be a great time to have a trainer come to your location to watch you remove snow or on any other job being performed. The trainer will observe your movement while you work and give you feedback on what could help you prevent injuries. If you want a trainer to come out and observe you just ask your foreman. Remember our five week focus is SIMS in the field. Ask for a trainer today!

Pirate Observations

With new employees joining the team, now is a wonderful time to utilize a Pirate Observation. The process is a good training tool. We should all volunteer to take a new employee around while doing a Pirate Observation. This will provide the employee a great opportunity to learn the process and show him what the Pirate means to you and all of us at Wells Support.

5 Week Safety Focus

Our 5 week safety focus is (safety in Motion) SIMS. We need to continue to watch each other and stop improper ergonomics. We have several employee's who are out due to soft tissue injuries. Talk about the steps in your job which you might need to bend over or pick material. Some crews even go as far as to stretch before they begin their job.

After Action Review - AAR Form

New After Action Review Form

After Action Reviews are a great tool to communicate with other crew members your lessons learned. AAR's are not to point fingers but to help us reach our goals and improve our performance, in both safety and completing jobs.

The Wells Support Supervisors would like you to share your AAR's at our Friday Team Lead meetings. Sharing your AAR's with your team will provide invaluable lessons to jobs that we can all benefit from in the future. They will help by providing us with the tools to perform the next job better than the last one.

ADW Report

Please review the ADW report from town it has all the ADW incidents from the past week. Keep in mind this report comes out every Monday.

API Valves

If you take a valve off the first dock south of the API shop, please notify the API shop tech. at 659-5072 or harmony 2599 or follow the instructions that are posted on the sign at the east end of the dock. This will help our TRP material coordinator with the tracking and inventory of these valves.

SIM's in the field

CH2M needs to utilize SIM training field wide. We have outstanding qualified trainers that are available to participate in your job; Shana Wilson, Jake Shaw, Dana Urquhart, Barry Bunnell, Jericho Dahlin and Caleb Bennett. Invite one of them to your job and check your SIM's knowledge.

AAR's (After Action Reviews)

AAR's: The expectation is to have one per week documented and shared in the Friday 5 o'clock meeting, conduct AAR's after each job and document the ones that other crews could benefit from.
