360's

What are the mechanics of a 360? A comprehensive evaluation of a vehicle including condition of vehicle and potential obstacles in front of, behind and overhead; confirmation of no fluid releases from the vehicle and includes a thought process and strategy to move the vehicle successfully (forwards or backwards) to the next location. A 360 shall be conducted again if the vehicle is not moved immediately.
All employees must be mentored in a proper 360 by a Foreman, Supervisor, Superintendent or Project Manager. Please sign the One on One script when you complete the training and ensure a copy is in your file plus a copy needs sent to the HSE Superintendent. Thanks!

Commendation

Jake Shaw and Mike Clingingsmith with Travis Parker as technical support have made Wells Support shine once again. Jake and Mike were selected from their respective groups to explain how SIM's is applied in the field, their presentations were performed during our weekly Team Leader meeting in front of Foremen and above for all of O&M. When you run into these individuals thank them for their support of SIM's, Pirate and Wells Support. This shows true leadership and teamwork. Thank you Jake, Mike and Travis.

A Message from the Pirate Steering Comitee

The Wells Support Steering Committee members are trying to breathe new life into the process.
With positive attitudes and new ideas we hope to accomplish this goal.
Below are some of the new ideas.
* Scurvy observer of the month will receive a $150.00 gift certificate to Army Navy
* Dandy Award - Weekly recognition award (including a small prize) for small acts that make a big difference.
*New material that is fun and informative for Pirate Mondays.
Management has been very forthcoming to help in all our changes, including financial support along with allowing more time to prepare for Pirate Monday.
~Don't forget that without the crews support none of this would be possible~
We are always looking for new ideas to improve the process, if you have any please let one of us know.
Last but not least we have a $150 gift certificate for our April Scurvy Observer: Charlie Ebner!
Thank you all for your participation and support.

SIMS Training

Wells Support has six SIMS trainers and CH2MHILL has a total of sixty trainers. With the blow ending, now would be a great time to have a trainer come to your location to watch you remove snow or on any other job being performed. The trainer will observe your movement while you work and give you feedback on what could help you prevent injuries. If you want a trainer to come out and observe you just ask your foreman. Remember our five week focus is SIMS in the field. Ask for a trainer today!

Pirate Observations

With new employees joining the team, now is a wonderful time to utilize a Pirate Observation. The process is a good training tool. We should all volunteer to take a new employee around while doing a Pirate Observation. This will provide the employee a great opportunity to learn the process and show him what the Pirate means to you and all of us at Wells Support.
